The metal roofing industry is driving to make sustainable products with recyclable raw material and energy efficient coatings. AEP Span is at the forefront of this green building movement within the metal roofing industry. AEP Span supports the efforts of such regulatory and standard-setting agencies, as US Green Building Council (LEED), Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC), and California Building Efficiency Standards (Title 24). All AEP Span Cool Colors meet a minimum reflectivity of 25 percent as prescribed by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. These popular Cool Colors are made with a specific formula in an effort to qualify them by the Cool Roof Rating Council. With AEP Span steel containing at least 25% recycled steel, engineers and designers know they are doing their part to help promote green building.
