Key On-Site Roll Forming Requirements

• AEP Span Responsibilities: Ensure timely delivery of coils and roll forming equipment, maintain production schedules and product quality, provide one operator, and confirm jobsite conditions before starting work.
• Safety: Safety is a priority, with joint responsibility between AEP Span and the customer. Compliance with all jobsite safety requirements is mandatory, including daily safety meetings and wearing PPE. Specialized safety equipment must be provided by the customer, if needed.
• Permits: The customer is responsible for securing necessary permits, with AEP Span providing support as required.
• Labor: The customer must secure union approval and provide additional labor for panel handling. Prevailing wage requirements must be communicated upfront.
• Quoting: If a project is classified as “Public Works,” this must be disclosed at the quoting stage, with prevailing wage considerations factored in.
• Scheduling: Submit the roll forming schedule with an approved cut list 8 weeks in advance, and confirm the schedule 4 weeks prior.
• Roll Forming Equipment Location: The customer must provide a solid foundation and storage space for the machine and finished panels. Moving the machine incurs additional costs.
• Facilities: Provide AEP Span employees access to jobsite facilities, including parking and restrooms.
• Panel Production: The customer must submit a complete bill of materials before production. Panels are the customer’s responsibility once sheared and formed.
• Storage and Handling: The customer must arrange for an 8,000 lb forklift and jobsite security for equipment and materials, and store completed panels securely.
• Cleanup: The customer is responsible for removing scrap and unused materials.
• Weather & Delays: Weather-related decisions are made jointly by AEP Span and the contractor, and delays due to jobsite conditions or labor will incur additional charges.
