On-Site Roll Former for Long-Length Metal Roofing

A Solution to Long-Length Metal Roofing

AEP Span has expanded its portfolio to include On-Site Roll Forming capabilities. This mobile solution brings the metal roofing manufacturing process directly to a job site, enabling the continuous fabrication of Span-Lok™ hp metal roofing for long-length panel applications. On-site roll forming increases the application of high-performance metal roofing in modern building design. The independently tested and proven Span-Lok hp profile, coupled with AEP Span’s unrivaled product support, presents installers with a superior weathertight roofing solution for large roofing areas.

Why On-Site Roll Forming?

Modern building designs present a broad range of roofing installation considerations and challenges. AEP Span’s on-site roll forming presents an ideal solution for commercial structures with large roofing planes requiring continuous panel lengths above 45’.

The extended panel lengths create a clean aesthetic appeal while significantly reducing the long-term weatherproofing risks associated with panel lapping. On-site forming also provides a solution where direct shipping of long-length panels from the manufacturing facility is impractical, or for job sites with challenging access.

AEP Span’s on-site long-length panels provide a high-performance, weathertight metal roofing solution down to a 1⁄4:12 slope. This makes it an ideal metal roofing solution for building designs featuring large, single-plane roofing slopes, such as designs with skillion roofs, or large two-plane roofs, such as butterfly or single-gable roofing areas. On-site roll forming provides an excellent continuous-length metal roofing solution for structures such as pools, gymnasiums, civic buildings, community centers, and other similar buildings requiring large roof spans.

Metal Roofing Profile

The Span-Lok hp profile available for on-site roll forming is a 16” wide, performance-rated, architectural standing seam roof panel. Designers, contractors, and building owners favor the mechanically seamed panel for its 2” high bold rib aesthetic, independently tested weathertight design, and variety of PVDF colors in 22 and 24-gauge. On-site manufactured panels feature the same design, dimensions, and tested performance as factory-manufactured Span-Lok hp panels. This provides installers with product confidence and offers the flexibility of integrating factory and on-site manufactured panels on large multi-building project.
